Introducing the Spring 2016 Collection...

It's official! We are launching our Bravelets Spring Collection throughout March! The first of the bunch to hit the shelves (so to speak) is the Audrey Bracelet. Our Audrey Bracelet is a chain with colored crystal beads strung on it, and a dainty stainless steel bar. The chain clasps at either end for a secure fit. This delicate bracelet is unique and fashionable, just like it's namesake: Audrey Hepburn. As always, the words "be brave" are engraved on the bar of the bracelet, reminding you to be brave through tough times! Shop this bracelet here.

The Audrey comes in our variety of 16 colors and it makes a great addition to any Bravelets arm party. I can't wait to see all of you wearing your Audreys! They are one of my favorite new products from the Spring Collection.

After the rest of the new products launch, y'all can let me know which is your favorite!

BRAVE WOMEN: Harper Lee

In honor of Harper Lee and her literary legacy, we would like to name her as one of our many Brave Women. Most people I know, people of all ages, grew up reading To Kill A Mockingbird in school (or at home, over and over again). She wrote such a inspiring coming-of-age story that told the truth of her time.

I was so sad to hear of her passing, but I can always remember that her contribution to American literature will never be forgotten. We should all strive to contribute in our own ways.

10 Random Acts of Kindness + FREE Download!

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day! I personally LOVE this day. It inspires me to think outside of the box and be creative with my kindness. Here at Bravelets, we got a little creative with our kindness and came up with a gift for you (scroll to the bottom of the post to see!). But if you want to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day with me then read on...

Here are some kind things you can do for others today:

  1.  Pay for the person behind you's order in the drive-thru at Starbucks.
  2. Write a comment that compliments someone on the internet.
  3. Don't bring your phone to the dinner table tonight.
  4. Help someone with a heavy bag.
  5. Visit a family member or friend you haven't made time for in awhile.
  6. Babysit/dogsit/catsit for free.
  7. Give a homeless person your leftovers from lunch.
  8. Be kind and patient when on the phone with a customer service representative.
  9. Simply listen to someone with a problem.
  10. Buy someone a Bravelet and encourage them to be brave! ...c'mon, you knew that was coming!
Don't exhaust yourself by trying to do all ten! But be aware of all the opportunities you have to be kind to someone today. And remember, you can always be kind to yourself too!

Now, remember that gift I told you about earlier...

An adorable wallpaper download!

These three wallpapers are available for desktop and mobile!

To download click here and choose the phone or desktop wall paper you would like to have! (Feel free to download all three!) Save the wallpaper by clicking the down arrow at the top of the page.

TIPS for Heart Health Awareness Month!

When you think February, does a little cartoon heart pop up in your mind? This month is always associated with romance and a pink and red color scheme of sorts because of Valentine's Day. But let's shift the focus a little and start a conversation about our physical hearts. They take care of us and we always forget to do so in return. Let's spread awareness for being heart healthy!

I'm gonna let y'all in on some tips on how to empower yourself by living a heart healthy lifestyle! All in honor of Heart Health awareness month!

HEALTHY EATING

Working heart healthy foods into your diet is a great way to take care of yourself! Here are some foods that are insanely good for the old ticker:

  • Food high in omega-3s, like salmon and tuna
  • Nuts
  • Berries
  • Oatmeal
  • Dark Colored Beans (Black Beans)
  • Tofu
  • Vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes and squash
  • Spinach
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
and my two favorites...
  • Red wine
  • Dark Chocolate
STAYING ACTIVE

Another way to promote over all heart wellness is to keep yourself moving! This does not mean you have to have a strict work out regimen or do daily cardio. It's as easy as keeping a sedentary lifestyle in check. At work, when you are taking a break, walk around outside. Always park in the back of parking lots, so you have a longer walk to the grocery store! There are a lot of great ways to get your "steps" in, as people with fancy step counting bracelets are now saying! Just be mindful of your activities and you'll be good to go.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

A big piece of the heart health puzzle is learning to manage your stress levels. Expressing issues and feelings about your day to day life is the #1 way to keep your stress at bay. When you let your feelings out and allow other people to help you with your problems, you often have more time to devote to yourself and your hobbies.

It's also important to remember to be mindful and breathe. Any form of meditation helps you slow down and take all that is happening in your life into account. It can help with watching your blood pressure and learning to cope with situations that might be out of your control.

OVERALL WELLNESS
  • Always keep your regularly schedule doctor's appointments
  • Avoid smoking and second hand smoke
  • Know your family's history with heart disease
  • Learn the warning signs of a heart attack
GET INVOLVED

It is proven that a great way to feel good and reduce stress is to give back and support others! There are plenty of ways to get involved for Heart Health Awareness Month. Go Red For Women and American Heart Association are two great places to get started in brainstorming how to give back!

You can also set up a Brave Page with us and personally fundraise for your cause this Heart Health Awareness Month! This is a great way to support your loved ones and raise money. Receive 10% off all RED and PINK items with coupon code: HEART10 for the rest of February. Support a Brave Page today!

What are you going to do this month?

CREATE A BRAVE PAGE, IT'S EASY AS 1, 2, 3...

Do you have a cause that is close to your heart? Is it personal, inspired by someone you love, or support for a non-profit? Because if the answer was 'yes' to any of those questions, then YOU are a perfect candidate to start your own Brave Page.

Creating a Brave Page fundraiser is a great way to get your friends, family, and community involved in a cause you are passionate about. You can share your story, post about your fundraiser on social media, and every time someone purchases a Bravelet from your page, you get a direct donation of $10! It's that simple.

Brave Pages are a great place to raise money to cover medical expenses, funds in support of a cure and simply spread the message of bravery.

Find out more on our website, email us or call us at (800) 780-9227.

We look forward to fundraising with you!

So Galentine's Day (the day before it's romantic counterpart), is coming up in about a week and a half! This is one of my favorite "holidays"; you get to spend time with friends, eat candy and make cards! Sounds like so much fun, right?

Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation brought Galentine's Day to the forefront of holiday culture and ever since, this feminist and adorable event has been enjoyed with baked goods, mimosas, amazing gals, and Nora Ephron movies! So for this Galentine's Day, we wanted to supply you with some cards to give to your gals!

To download these cute cards click here. Download the PDF by clicking the down facing arrow at the top of the page. Then you can print the cards, fold them, and write your personal message to your gal pals!

BRAVE WOMEN: Rosa Parks

One of my favorite Bravelets bracelets is the Rosa. And do you know who it's named after? Rosa Parks, of course! Her birthday is coming up on February 4th, so a tribute post seems necessary!

In honor of Black History Month, and all brave women, Rosa Parks is our inspiration this week! She is known as "the first lady of civil rights" and spent her life as an activist.

"Each person must live their life as a model for others."
That historic day in 1955, when Parks did not give her seat up on the bus, she set up an example for all women, and all activists. Her bravery lives on to this day and we can all look to her for guidance to live a better life! When you look down at your Rosa bracelet, remember her legacy and find your own strength. Our Bravelets™ are there to show you your own bravery and get you through those tough times.
