The Importance of Sunscreen

It's summer and that means being fun and fancy free, right? Yes, but it also means you have to add sunscreen to your daily routine, now more than ever. I have always been an advocate for wearing sunscreen, simply for the betterment of my beauty routine. Did you know that...

  • Sunscreen decreases your chance of developing wrinkles and premature aging
  • Sunscreen prevents blotchiness, redness of skin and dark spots
  • Sunscreen is the best way to protect your skin from U/V rays
My mom always said that the most important part of keeping up with your beauty routine is applying sunscreen. Not how expensive your foundation is, not what kind of peel you get, it's sunscreen. It's also a great barrier in the battle against melanoma.

In 2011, the Journal of Clinical Oncology published a randomized, clinical study of over 1,600 people showing that regular sunscreen use reduced the incidence of melanoma by 50-73%.
Keeping your skin safe is very important. So whether it's a spray or lotion, make sure it's not expired, and apply away!
